| Barbara went above and beyond for us. My wife's doctor's office made a scheduling error and we found ourselves sitting in front of a locked office door the night I had scheduled the class. Being my responsibility, I was immediately in the hot seat with an 8 month pregnant wife which is never good. But when we called Barbara she immediately arranged a time for private session and save me from sleeping in my truck that night. The class was extremely helpful and put both my wife and myself at ease. Barbara covered a lot of topics not only related to the actually birthing process which really helped us make sure we had planned everything by the time our son arrived. |

| The class with Barbara was a turning point for me in my pregnancy, giving me confidence and reassurance. I have referred to the notes from her class frequently ever since and feel prepared -- and when I found out I would be induced, I called her and she gave me even more helpful advice over the phone. She creates a warm environment and teaches you everything you will need to know to get through the birthing and postpartum process. Dr's offices sometimes make you feel rushed, Barbara takes the extra time to make sure all your questions are answered. This class is a MUST and well worth the price! |

| My wife and I are expecting our first child, and have been pretty overwhelmed. My wife set up our childbirth prep class with Barbara, and after what I have heard from my brothers and friends who have gone to classes elsewhere, I was not looking forward to it. I was expecting a long, boring, drawn-out, classroom-type experience. Instead, Barbara taught us through discussions in a very warm and comfortable environment in one morning instead of over several weeks. She is personable, engaging, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to and ask questions; and we felt so confident and ready for labor and delivery when we left. She tailored our session to the things we were most concerned about, and then expanded on things we never would have even thought to ask. My wife is a registered nurse, so she is familiar with the labor and delivery process, and even she was surprised at how much she gained from the experience. What a wonderful experience! We recently took Barbara's Baby Basics class and were so pleased to have Babara help prepare us for the upcoming journey of parenting a newborn.
She conducts the class with such candor and humor, it immediately puts you at ease. We took a class with three other prospective parents and the environment was such that everyone felt comfortable asking any sort of question.

This was a great experience for my wife and me. Barbara was very knowledgeable, reassuring, insightful and very funny. We could have talked with her for the entire day. Our stress level and confidence increased after our session. She provided invaluable advice that has increased our preparation and will potentially saves us money. In addition ,she gave us literature and an open invitation to call her any time with any questions. She covered a variety of topics; from child seats, how to deal with contractions; nutrition, core blood, baby room, newborn safety..... . She patiently answer all our questions and continued to ask if we had additional questions.
This was the best before, during and after birth preparatory education we have experienced (that includes family, the hospital, doctors and all the books we have read)!!!! I immediately referred my friend (Ricardo) who is scheduling a session after I discussed it with him.
Her delivery, energy, humor and passion made this a very enjoyable session

We had such an enjoyable experience with Barbara! We are now well informed. Both Kevin and I feel so much more confident about giving birth than we did before attending. Kevin understands his role in the process and is ready to serve in that capactiy. I now have a much better understanding of the labor and delivery process and what to expect at the hospital.
Barbara has a way of taking what could be a dry topic and made it funny and intersting. We are still laughing about it a week later.
We are already referring another couple to Barabara and we know that they will enjoy her teaching style as well. |

We had a wonderful experience with Barbara. I didn't even realize how stressed I had been feeling until after we met with her and the the stress was gone. Barbara was entertaining, concise, and very knowledgable. The 2.5 hour session answered all our questions (even questions we didn't know that we had) and made it so that we could enjoy our last few weeks before our baby comes worry free. Some additional perks of the session was that Barbara also covered:
1) what to do after the baby comes (nursing, swaddling, pediatrian
2) the differences between what doctors say now and what doctors said in my mom's time (so I know what advice has been changed)
3) spent time discussing both my husband's and I's fears so I also felt like we were able to enhance our communication through the process.

She was able and willing to accommodate two busy schedules and condense those all day or even multi-day birthing classes for us first-timers into TWO HOURS! Every bit of the information supplied was relevant, easy to understand and calmed our nerves. She was so patient with the questions we asked and we can't imagine having this baby without having met with Ms. Barbara. We left our session with confidence, knowing what to expect during labor AND delivery and are now ready to meet our baby! |

| My wife and I recently spent a fantastic 2+ hours with Barbara in preperation for our pending arrival. From a "guys" perspective, I could not reccomend Barbara more. She somehow managed to take a painful 8 hour class, condense it into 2.5 hours of insightful, relevant, and often pretty funny, guidance. I left feeling better about the entire process, confident that we were on the right track, thankful that she reminded me about a few things, and fortunate to have such a great resource if we need it going forward. Trust me, if you hate sitting in a room for an entire day, reviewing a bunch of information that doesn't apply to you, and listening to questions that don't matter to you, go take the traditional class. I decided to work with Barbara to prepare me for the birth of my first child. Before I found Barbara, it seemed my only option, was to take a 6-wk long course offered at the hospital. I decided to opt away from this traditional childbirth class attended by another 20-30 couples, and work with Barbara, and are so glad I did.
Barbara brings years of ob/gyn experience to her practice. She teaches everything that these courses do, and so much more. She has a way to make her clients feel so at ease, and ease that anxiety that so often comes with childbirth. Her information is precise and can deliver it with humor and humanity. I learned more in the few hours that I worked with Barbara that I believe I could've learned in the hospital's entire 6-wk course. The one item I didn't notice in her information is that she welcomes discussions about pre and post-partum sex, something many couples of all persuasions have difficulty initiating. | My husband, Javarro and I are so grateful to Barbara for all her wise and valuable advice. I was a terrified, first-time mom who suffered horrible morning sickness everyday of my first trimester of pregnancy...exactly 13 weeks of constant vomiting and debilitating nausea. I was at my wits end wondering when is pregnancy going to be wonderful like everyone told me it would! Then I met with Barbara for my first OB visit and she was such a breath of fresh air! So positive and nurturing. She taught me how to manage my nausea and actually begin to embrace my pregnancy by focusing on the positive and looking forward to the second trimester! Everything Barbara told me was accurate..she enouraged me to let go of my fear and embrace my pregnancy and once I did I felt like a new woman! Because I am advanced maternal age I had to take a myriad of tests and Barb encouraged me the entire way through! I had to go through multiple amnio tets and Barb told me "hang in there..it's all worth it when your baby is perfect and healthy! Boy was she right! Now, nine months later my beautiful baby daughter Emerson is here..healthy and happy and I cannot thank Barbara enough for guiding me through the most important chapter of my life. I'm a much better mother because Barbara helped me prepare while I was a mom-to-be. Thank goodness for Barbara and when I become pregnant with my second child, if I am so blessed, I'll be sitting right across from Barb once again! She is awesome and I can't recommend her services enough! Whether your neurotic like me or just in need of a little common sense advice you can count on Barbara Negelow. | I write this testiomonial of my experience to highlight the abilities, care and humanity of Barbara. I was referred to Barbara through my Dr. in 2006. I am a mother of 2 children one 15 and one now 1 1/2. Of course like all new mothers I attended the hospital based childbirth classes but it had been 14 yrs since my last delivery and I needed a true refresher. I had many worries about my upcoming delivery after experiencing a loss in 2003. I prayed for a safe delivery the comfort of knowing what to expect and I guess just plain old reassurance that I could deliver this baby with out risk and that I was ready to handle the obstacles ahead. Barbara took the time to get to know me (my )history with my high risk pregnancies and because of this she was able to prepare a class that was right for my needs. Her teaching was both comforting and thought provoking. She discussed having a new baby, blended families, older siblings and their roles, we discussed loss of a child and most of all she answered my upcoming childbirth questions. Even the ones you are oftern embarrased to ask. I felt comfortable with her at all times and so did my husband. We delivered a beautiful healthy baby boy Oct. 2006. I felt prepared and ready to handle the obstacles ahead. My husband and I are currently expecting our 3rd child now and Barbara will be a resource that we will continue to call upon. I consider knowing her a blessing and know without a doubt that having her knowledge and expertise in childbirth, counseling made my experience more reassuring. I now refer others to her...... |

| Barbara is super! She obviously has extensive knowledge in her field, and went over topics with my husband and I that had not been asked of us - even by our doctors!! A mother herself, she is down-to-earth, caring, sweet but very direct and to the point. She discussed in great detail, what to expect before, during and after labor. She suggested great books to read (all of which we went out and bought and enjoyed). Overall, her advice combined with her expertise made us feel more prepared for the birth of our baby. And with knowledge comes power in knowing you're doing the right thing! |

| When we found out we were having a baby, we went to various websites and signed up for classes. When we attended these classes, we had questions that went unanswered, the quality of some of the teachers was low, and generally we felt like we had wasted some of our time with them. Barbara is nothing like that. With Barbara, our sessions never felt impersonal, all of our questions were answered, including some that could be considered atypical, and we never felt rushed or that our time was unimportant. Barbara has a great sense of humor, she listens and is willing to address all concerns, not just the usual ones.
